Role Description

Please note this is a part-time hourly consulting contract with a results based commission.

In this role you’ll enable us to grow our business by working with our existing business development team to build relationships with key market players and unlock new funding opportunities. You will help us decode the ecosystem of funding and partnership opportunities for sustainable mobility. You will work with our team to researh potential grants or partners in detail and assist us in selecting the right opportunities, while helping us develop and submit winning proposals.

You have experience and knowledge of best practices in securing funds from trusts and foundations, as well as international tendering and contracting strategies for urban planning, transport infrastructure projects, and mobility initiatives in emerging markets. Ideally, candidates for this role will know how to meet ambitious team-wide quotas, and feel comfortable advising across multiple projects.

Requirements

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Building relationships with the key players in some or all of these priority segments
    • Inter-governmental economic organisations
    • Multilateral development banks / development finance institutions
    • Philanthropic organisations / foundations
  • Leveraging your network for introductions into new growth areas
  • Using your sector experience and knowledge of our services to identify new funding sources and partnership opportunities
  • Providing guidance on procurement processes and operational challenges within our priority segments
  • Collaborate with our team to develop commercially sound proposals
  • Identifying areas to develop new business with existing clients and/or identifying areas of improvement to meet targets
  • Demonstrating the impact and value of our data to secure funding

Bonus attributes

The following will be a plus, but are not required for this role:

  • Experience delivering strategic and collaborative procurement activities
  • Experience working with Multilateral development banks, trusts, foundations and/or other international/bilateral aid agencies on procurement policies and procedures.
  • Experience with procurement by private sector entities, non-sovereign operations, public-private partnerships (PPPs), concessions and similar arrangements, is an advantage
  • First-hand experience of tendering and contracting strategies, negotiating budgets and delivering projects with engineering consultancy firms
